The Iranian government has officially sent a response to the 15-point proposal submitted by the United States through international intermediaries on Wednesday (25/3) local time. An internal source familiar with the information told Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency that Tehran is now awaiting a counter-response from Washington with several absolute conditions.

In the response document, Iran emphasised four main points to end the conflict. First, the total cessation of planned assassination actions by enemy parties. Second, the establishment of concrete conditions to ensure the war does not recur. Third, guarantees for compensation and war reparations clearly defined. Fourth, the end of the war must be carried out across all combat lines, encompassing all involved regional resistance groups.

In addition to these demands, the source stressed that Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is a natural and legal right that cannot be contested. Tehran views recognition of this sovereignty as a guarantee for the implementation of commitments from the opposing side. These conditions are said to be separate from the nuclear demands raised in previous Geneva negotiations.

Although it has sent a reply, Tehran remains sceptical. The source claimed that the US negotiation offer is merely the “third deception project”. Iran suspects the US is using the guise of diplomacy to build a peaceful image in the eyes of the world, pressure global oil prices, and buy time to prepare for a ground invasion of southern Iran.

“If previously Iran doubted the outcomes of negotiations before the June 2025 war, now Iran has total doubt about the US’s willingness to negotiate honestly. They are accustomed to starting wars precisely when the negotiation process is underway,” the source emphasised.

US President Donald Trump claims to have crippled Iran’s combat strength, including the destruction of 154 ships and missile launchers, and states that the US military has won the war.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Qalibaf threatens to attack vital infrastructure of regional countries if it is proven they are helping the enemy occupy one of Iran’s strategic islands.

US President Donald Trump stated that Iran actually wants to negotiate, even though it does not dare to admit it openly.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasised that Tehran will not advance to the negotiating table and chooses to continue resistance against the United States and Israel amid the conflict.

Trump’s foreign policy adviser stated that the US has no interest in prolonging the conflict with Iran for more than three months.

Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Mojtaba Khamenei, emphasised that Iran will not stop the war until the US provides international guarantees and lifts sanctions.
