Sorong Fuel Stock Lasts 20 Days, Pertamina Claims It Is Safe
JAKARTA - Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero) have ensured that the availability and distribution of fuel oil and LPG in the city of Sorong, Southwest Papua, are in a safe condition.
This assurance came after a direct inspection of the COCO 81 984 01 petrol station and the non-subsidised LPG agent of PT Wilis Trijaya Mandiri on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
The inspection was conducted by Pertamina Commissioner Nanik S. Deyang along with Hasan Nasbi.
Hasan assessed that services at the petrol station located on Jalan Ahmad Yani are running well. The distribution of subsidised fuel is also deemed on target.
“Overall, it is running well, there are no queues and the distribution of subsidised fuel is also on target. However, there are some things that need to be improved,” he said.
The inspection was also carried out at the non-subsidised LPG agent. The results showed that the LPG supply is in a safe condition without shortages.
Hasan stated that the LPG availability is sufficient for the next 15 days. Refilling is also done before stocks run out.
“Insyaallah, the energy supply in this region can continue to be fulfilled and maintained by Pertamina Patra Niaga,” said Hasan.
Nanik highlighted the conducive condition of the community amid rising energy prices. She assessed that supply stability has a positive impact on the social and economic situation.
“The Single Price Fuel alone is already hard work; when fuel prices rise in other countries, Indonesia is still holding strong. Pertamina is truly carrying out its function as an agent of development. I am pleased that Pertamina provides peace of mind and a sense of security for the community,” said Nanik.
She added that the fuel stock resilience in Sorong is higher compared to Java regions. Stocks in Sorong reach around 20 days, while in Java the average is about 10 days.
“This provides a sense of security for the community. Hopefully, not only in Sorong but also across the Papua region, the stocks are safe,” she said.
