Soothsayer at Mercure hotel

JAKARTA (JP): Guests of the La-tiga cafe, situated in the
four-star Mercure Rekso-Hayam Wuruk hotel in the downtown Kota
district can now have the opportunity to talk about their lives
and the future with famous soothsayer Mr. Naga.

Public relations manager of the Accor Asia Pacific-managed
hotel, Mirna A. Basalamah, said on Friday free sessions with Mr.
Naga were available on Fridays only.

Mirna said in order to attract more guests the hotel had
reopened its Chinese restaurant, the Chiao Tung, a celebrated
Jakarta hotel during the 1940s.

"The Mercure hotel was built on the former plot on which the
Chiao Tung hotel was erected. Chiao Tung was once the most
luxurious hotel in Jakarta, but was turned into a military
station by the Japanese soldiers," she said.

The Chiao Tung restaurant offers a wide selection of Chinese
cuisine cooked in the Cantonese or Sechuan style. (cst)
