Sony Sonjaya's Lawyer Claims 41 Names Allegedly Sought SPPG Site Allocations
The legal counsel for former National Nutrition Agency (BGN) deputy chief Sony Sonjaya, Krisna Murti, has stated that there are 41 names suspected of involvement in requesting allocations for Nutritional Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) sites. He said the number had increased from the 26 names previously widely circulated on social media. “So, the total number of names from yesterday was 26, plus those just mentioned, and then there are three additional names mentioned by Mr Sony. So, the total today is 41 names,” Krisna said when met at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) building at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Thursday. He said the dozens of names come from political circles, but did not disclose them in detail. He conveyed that Sony did not know whether the sites were intended for sale or not. “The investigator asked earlier. Mr Sony answered that he no longer knows. After the sites were given, he no longer knows whether those sites were sold or not,” he revealed. Sony, he continued, also stated that the benefit received from the site requests was the fulfilment of SPPG site targets and admitted he did not receive any money. On Thursday, Jampidsus investigators at the Attorney General’s Office examined Sony as a suspect in the alleged corruption case concerning the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for 2025-2026 for approximately nine hours. After the examination, Sony, a retired National Police officer, did not provide any statement to the media. In this case, Jampidsus investigators have named five suspects: former BGN head Dadan Hindayana; former BGN deputy head for Organisational Development and Institutional Relations Lodewyk Pusung; former BGN deputy head for Nutritional Fulfilment Operations Sony Sonjaya; Asep Yusuf Soemantri, a private sector party; and PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal Commissioner Andri Mulyono.
