Sony Sonjaya Reveals 41 Names Linked to Free Nutritious Meals Corruption to Investigators
Former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya was examined by the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office for approximately 10 hours as a suspect in the governance case of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. The examination relates to the justice collaborator (JC) application submitted by Sony in this case.
Sony’s legal counsel, Krisna Murni, stated that during today’s examination, Sony was again asked by investigators to elaborate on the 26 names of parties who proposed locations for the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens. Krisna mentioned that the number of 26 names has expanded to 41 names.
“So, from the 26 names we previously mentioned, when one person’s chat results were opened, the table contained around, the total is 41 names. So the total has now increased to 41 names,” Krisna told reporters at the Jampidsus building of the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026).
He explained that the addition relates to parties requesting a share of SPPG points affiliated with the previously mentioned names. From that, it expanded to 41 names allegedly involved.
“So one person had a table, ‘Sir, this belongs to this person, this belongs to this person, this belongs to this Regent’, like that. ‘This belongs to this person, this belongs to this person’. So the total number of names from yesterday’s 26 plus the ones today, then there are three additional names mentioned by Mr. Sony, so the total today is 41 names,” he continued.
On this occasion, Krisna also conveyed that the names circulating on social media are not entirely accurate. He stated that Sony did not gain any benefit from the parties who proposed SPPG points.
“None. He was also asked, ‘What benefit did you get from giving them these points?’, then Mr. Sony said, ‘My benefit is that these SPPGs are fulfilled according to the target’,” he said.
Regarding the background of the parties who proposed the SPPG points, Krisna said that most of them are from political circles. “From political circles. Basically from political circles,” Krisna explained.
Krisna also conveyed that Sony mentioned a figure with the initials NSD during today’s examination. According to Krisna, Sony also revealed the role of this NSD figure.
“Oh yes, NSD was mentioned earlier. NSD did, according to Mr. Sony’s examination report, he explained that NSD changed the name of the foundation,” Krisna explained.
Krisna said, according to Sony’s statement, the NSD figure could change the name of a foundation up to three times. The SPPG points whose foundation was changed belonged to NSD.
“This foundation’s name was changed to this name, then changed again to this name. So three times it was changed. Now, those points, according to Mr. Sony’s explanation in the examination report, are points owned by NSD,” Krisna revealed.
“There are points in the Tapos area, Bogor. Then there are other areas as well. Karang Asem, yes. Basically, there are points in the Madiun area, in the Tapos area, and then in another area. Those are the points owned by NSD. And NSD, if he wanted to change the foundation, should have sent a letter to Mr. Sony to change this foundation to that foundation. But he did not send a letter, instead he told Mr. Sony, ‘Just change it!’, like that, ‘Just change it’, that’s how it was in Mr. Sony’s examination report earlier,” Krisna continued.
