Former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sonjaya, complied with a summons from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office on Thursday (18/6/2026). His arrival was in connection with his examination as a suspect in the alleged corruption case concerning the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Based on observations at the scene, Sony arrived at the Jampidsus Building at 09.24 WIB under tight security using a prison transport vehicle. Wearing a detainee vest, the retired National Police officer appeared to be carrying a notebook and pen. Despite being bombarded with questions from the media regarding the examination material, Sony only gave a faint smile without uttering a single statement. Sony’s legal counsel, Krisna Murti, had arrived earlier at 09.18 WIB. Krisna previously asserted that his client had applied to be a justice collaborator (JC) since 8 June. This step was taken because Sony felt he was being used as a ‘shield’ in the scandal involving the sale of kitchen locations for the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG). ‘Mr Sony feels cornered as if he acted alone in the sale of kitchen points. In fact, there was pressure and attention from big names who directed this. He will reveal everything, including who the real mastermind behind this case is,’ said Krisna Murti when met before entering the examination room. In this case, the Attorney General’s Office has named five main suspects.
