Sony Reveals 26 Names in Free Nutritious Meal Case Across Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Branches
The lawyer for former National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Deputy Head Sony Sonjaya, Krisna Murti, has claimed his client submitted 26 names involved in the alleged corruption case concerning the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
Krisna stated that dozens of prominent figures have also been recorded in the Examination Minutes (BAP) by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes.
“We have conveyed this to the investigators, it is already in the BAP,” he told journalists on Wednesday (10/6).
Nevertheless, Krisna did not disclose further details about the individuals suspected of involvement in the MBG corruption case. He only mentioned that those involved hail from various institutions at the executive, judicial, and legislative levels.
Furthermore, Krisna noted that the names provided by Sony to investigators represent only a fraction. He indicated the possibility that the list of names could still grow during subsequent examinations.
“Basically, from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The legislative branch makes up the largest number. The total is 26 names, likely to increase, that was only a portion,” he said.
Previously, former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya formally applied to become a Justice Collaborator (JC) in the governance corruption case concerning the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
Sony’s lawyer, Krisna Murti, stated that the JC application was made by his client not to evade the ongoing legal process. He claimed that through this JC status, his client intends to be cooperative and reveal other parties involved in the case.
“Not to avoid legal problems, but we want to uncover and cooperate in revealing who else is involved in this presidential flagship programme,” he told journalists at the Attorney General’s Office on Monday (8/6).
The Attorney General’s Office has named former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana alongside former Deputy Heads of BGN Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung as suspects in the MBG governance corruption case.
In this matter, Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, explained that the MBG programme should have been managed by foundations affiliated with receiving schools.
However, in practice, many Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) were appointed due to their affiliations with senior BGN officials. Syarief stated that the foundations essentially did not meet the requirements to become SPPG partners.
He added that the three individuals also marked up prices during procurement, resulting in losses that did not support the operational implementation of the MBG programme.
He detailed the non-compliant procurements as 21,801 electric motorbike units worth IDR 1.03 trillion, 32,000 pairs of shoes, 31,994 tablet units, and 5,400 75-inch television units.
