'Song for Princess Diana' staged

JAKARTA (JP): A group of musicians will hold a concert Sunday evening at the Fashion Cafe in the BNI tower, Central Jakarta, to commemorate the first anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

Concert organizer Bunthora Situmorang, a leading Batak musician, said the concert would also feature a composition of his titled Song for Princess Diana in English, Indonesian and Batak.

Bunthora said he would send the English version of the song to the Princess Diana Foundation in Britain. The foundation is expected to market the song and return part of the proceeds to help leprosy patients in Tangerang's Sithanala hospital, which was once visited by Diana.

Artists performing at the concert include Emilia Contessa, the Lasidos Group, Exis Trio, Joy Tobing, Sim Brothers. The concert is sponsored by Intan Life insurance company. (jsk)
