The son of fugitive Riza Chalid, Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza, revealed his father’s response regarding the collaboration to rent a fuel terminal with PT Pertamina. Kerry admitted that he had informed Riza Chalid before proceeding with the collaboration.

This was stated by Kerry Adrianto while serving as a star witness in the trial for the corruption case involving the management of crude oil at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (31/3/2026). The defendants in the trial are Alfian Nasution, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga for the 2021-2023 period, and Hanung Budya, former Director of Marketing and Trading at PT Pertamina.

Initially, the prosecutor delved into Kerry about the name Riza Chalid being used as a personal guarantee related to the financing application for the acquisition of the PT Oiltanking Merak fuel terminal by PT Tangki Merak. Kerry said the request came from the bank side.

“Then regarding the earlier matter, sir, the financing process for the acquisition, right. In the end, it used Bank BRI, I also asked earlier, there is a personal guarantee, one of which is the witness’s father. What is your consideration in involving Mr Riza Chalid to become a personal guarantee in that financing, sir?” asked the prosecutor.

“So that was a request from BRI, because BRI asked, so I took them to meet my father like that. At that time, the meeting was also with a notary, sir,” answered Kerry.

Kerry stated that his father knew about the plan to collaborate with PT Pertamina during the personal guarantee process. According to him, Riza Chalid allowed his name to be used as a personal guarantee in the financing process for that acquisition.

“So Mr Riza Chalid knew that you would carry out the collaboration by acquiring and then collaborating with PT Pertamina, when was that?” asked the prosecutor.

“At that time, so because he was asked for a personal guarantee, yes, I told him. Then, ‘oh, it’s okay’ like that. That’s it,” answered Kerry.

Kerry admitted to having told Riza Chalid about the collaboration plan. He revealed his father’s response upon hearing the plan to collaborate with PT Pertamina.

“Did you tell Mr Riza Chalid that the plan after the acquisition is to rent or collaborate with PT Pertamina?” asked the prosecutor.

“Yes, I briefly told him,” answered Kerry.

“What was Mr Riza Chalid’s response?” asked the prosecutor.

“Well, ‘insyaallah it will go smoothly’ like that,” answered Kerry.

In this trial, Kerry Adrianto served as a star witness alongside two other defendants. They are Gading Ramadhan Joedo as Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim and President Director of PT Orbit Terminal Merak, and Dimas Werhaspati as Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa as well as Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim.
