Son remembers IKN Authority spokesperson as inspirational figure: 'We are proud of him'

The son of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority spokesperson Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, Romeo Matthew Pantouw, has remembered his father as an extraordinary individual. Troy Pantouw was found deceased in the Nusantara civil servant flats.

“Of course, a very inspirational figure. I personally collaborated with him on several projects, especially in communications. He not only understood the theory but was also an exceptional communications practitioner,” Romeo said when met at the Sentosa Funeral Home at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (26/7/2026).

Romeo, a postgraduate communications student, said he looked up to his father as an example. He recalled how Troy applied communication theory not only in his work as the IKN Authority spokesperson but also within the family.

“As a postgraduate communications student at the University of Indonesia, I really look up to him, I am very inspired by him. Not just by the theories, but he truly practised communication well, both to the government in the context of the IKN Authority and to us, his family,” Romeo remembered.

He also remembered Troy as someone who never stopped learning, was adaptable to technological advancements, and remained humble. “What I learned from him is that he was a person who never wanted to stop learning, continuously adapted to technological progress, kept developing his network, and remained humble. I learned these things truly, not just through his words, but through his actions throughout his life,” he said.

Troy Pantouw was found deceased in his room at the ASN 3 Tower 6 flats in Nusantara on Saturday (25/7). Deputy for Development Control at the IKN Authority, Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi, stated that Troy died of natural causes. He was taken to the local hospital where doctors confirmed his passing at 14.25 WITA on Saturday.
