The Jakarta Corruption Court (PN Tipikor) found defendant Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza (MKAR), also known as Kerry, guilty on Friday, 27 February 2026, and sentenced him to 15 years imprisonment for corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products of PT Pertamina’s subholding company.

Kerry, the son of fugitive M. Riza Chalid (MRC), announced his intention to appeal the court’s decision. “God willing, I will file an appeal,” Kerry stated following the reading of the verdict at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Kerry explained his reasons for challenging the judicial panel’s decision. According to him, the judges’ considerations in rendering the verdict discarded numerous facts presented during the trial that did not prove him guilty.

“I will continue seeking justice. I am also confused by the decision, because many trial facts were not included in the court’s considerations,” he said.

Kerry stated that filing an appeal to the second-level court was the only legitimate way to prove his innocence. “I will continue my legal efforts, and I hope I will obtain justice in another court,” Kerry concluded.
