NH, also known as MNH, a former administrator of the Ash-Sholihah Jonggrangan Islamic Boarding School in Sleman, has been detained by the police after raping a former student, leaving her pregnant. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to 12 years.

The Head of the PPA Unit of Sleman Police, Inspector Cahya Fitria, stated that MNH was detained immediately upon reporting to the police as summoned. “In this arrest and detention, we did not perform a forced arrest. MNH came to fulfil our summons on Thursday, 17 September 2026, and is currently being held at the Sleman Police Detention Centre,” Cahya said during a press conference at Sleman Police Headquarters on Friday (18/9/2026).

“The article we are applying is Article 6 letter c of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 12 years or a fine of up to category VII,” she continued.

Cahya added that the police initially received the report on 7 September 2026. Investigators subsequently conducted a crime scene investigation and a case review to escalate the matter to the investigation stage. The process moved from the investigation elevation on 10 September to the designation of the suspect on 12 September 2026, with the formal suspect status issued on 13 September 2026.

In this case, the police have also secured several pieces of evidence, including the victim’s clothing such as a hijab, underwear, shirts, and skirts.

The victim is expected to give birth next month. The victim’s legal counsel, Gusti Rian Saputro, revealed that they are currently seeking assistance for the delivery process. “We have written to several relevant institutions, encouraging them to provide concrete moral support to the victim. She is due to give birth next month, and the boarding school has provided no assistance,” Gusti said on Tuesday (15/9).

Gusti emphasised that their focus is not only on prosecuting the suspect but also on finding solutions to restore the victim’s condition, including her medical needs for childbirth, adhering to the principle of the victim’s best interests.

The victim, FN (21), has also sought protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) DIY after reporting instances of terror. Her brother, Mahyadien, confirmed that the victim has been receiving abusive messages via social media since the case went viral. “The intimidation began once the news boomed. For about five days now, we have been receiving messages every day,” Mahyadien stated after consulting with LPSK DIY on Wednesday (16/9).

It was previously reported that the alleged rapes occurred twice, in December 2025 and January 2026, within the boarding school premises. At the time of the incidents, the victim was a former student who had been working at the school as part of her service (khidmat). The victim officially reported the case to Sleman Police on 7 September 2026, providing strong evidence, including ultrasound results confirming her pregnancy.
