Son-in-law Identified as Suspect in Poisoned Satay Case that Killed Bu Aminah

Police have officially named a man with the initials PW (40) as the suspect in the delivery of poisoned satay that led to the death of Aminah (57) in Sindon Village, Ngemplak District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java. The suspect is the victim’s son-in-law.

“We have secured the perpetrator, and he is currently undergoing investigation as a suspect. Based on witness testimony, we have elevated his status to suspect,” stated Boyolali Police Chief AKBP Indra Maulana Saputra during a press conference at the Boyolali Police Headquarters on Monday (8/6/2026).

In solving this case, the local police, alongside the Central Java Regional Police Forensic Department, utilised Scientific Crime Investigation (SCI) methods. Autopsies performed on the deceased, along with examinations of vomit residue on the victim’s clothing, the satay skewers, and a dead chicken, revealed the presence of toxic substances.

“Toxic substances were found on the deceased’s body, as well as in several pieces of evidence submitted to us, including the satay and a chicken that was also found dead near the crime scene,” he explained.

Indra also noted that PW is the husband of the victim’s eldest daughter. “Ironically, the suspect is the son-in-law of the deceased,” he added.

PW was arrested following an interrogation on Thursday (4/6). The suspect is currently in custody and remains under intensive investigation by detectives.

As previously reported, Aminah was found dead in her home in Sindon Village, Ngemplak, Boyolali, on the morning of 19 May 2026. The previous night, she had received a delivery of satay suspected to contain poison.
