JAKARTA (JP): A businessman was found strangled in his house at Dahlia Loka housing complex in Pondok Jagung village in Tangerang on early Sunday morning.

Robbery did not appear to be motive for the killing of Oto Putradjaja as no items were stolen.

Oto, whose main residence was in Kebayoran Baru in South Jakarta, was found at about 3 a.m. by Harry, 24, one of his sons.

"I checked on him here because usually whenever my dad was intending to stay in this house, he told us by phone from Kebayoran Baru. I found he was no longer breathing," Harry was quoted by Antara as saying.

At least three people are believed to have committed the murder.

"My father did have business relations with several people," Harry said, adding that Oto visited his house in Tangerang once a week.

Tangerang police chief Lt. Col. Pudji Hartanto Iskandar said the case was under investigation.

"We have set up a team in charge of the case," he said. (hhr)
