Some Vehicles Banned from Using Pertalite from 1 June? Pertamina Clarifies
Pertamina (Persero), through Pertamina Patra Niaga, has responded to social media claims about a list of vehicle brands allegedly prohibited from using subsidized fuel, Pertalite, starting 1 June 2026. The company firmly stated there are currently no plans or government directives regarding restrictions on Pertalite based on specific vehicle brands or engine capacities as circulated online. “Claims that certain vehicle brands are prohibited from purchasing Pertalite from 1 June 2026 are certainly false, as there are currently no plans or directives from the government or regulators,” said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun in a press release. Social media has seen numerous posts spreading misinformation about Pertalite usage restrictions, listing prohibited vehicles. “Pertamina Patra Niaga is mandated to distribute energy and will follow official government policies. We reiterate that there are currently no regulations or directives from the government concerning Pertalite restrictions based on vehicle brands or engine capacity,” he added. Distribution and supply of Pertalite continue as normal. The Targeted Subsidy Programme is part of efforts to ensure efficient energy distribution and should not be confused with viral claims of banned vehicles. Pertamina Patra Niaga advises the public to verify information through official government, regulator, or Pertamina channels before sharing online to avoid being misled by unverified claims.
