Queues to enter rest areas on the Trans Java Toll Road are one of the causes of congestion. Jasa Marga asks the public to check information first before heading to rest areas, as an open-close system will be implemented.

“There are several notes: rest areas causing congestion mainly starting from rest area 229, then 208, and 164. Due to this condition, with the parameters already determined, we urge the public to prepare as well,” said PT Jasa Marga CEO Rivan A. Purwantono at km 29, Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, North Cikarang, Friday (27/3/2026).

The rest areas subject to the open-close system are at km 62B and 52B on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll. He stated that this system will be announced and its status is optional.

“And on that occasion, rest areas 62B and 52B will certainly be declared optional for opening and closing,” he said.

He also urged the public to first seek information regarding facilities at the existing rest areas.

“To know road congestion, to choose when to depart, to know rest areas along the entire toll road route, and to know what needs they have,” he added.

Rivan also urged the public entering the one-way lane not to use the road shoulder for overtaking. Drivers who need to slow down should use the left lane.

“And we always remind that when entering the one-way lane, the right lane, the shoulder is not for overtaking. So if there is a condition where you must slow down, still use the left lane,” he said.
