Some Pertamina Petrol Stations Not Selling Pertalite Fuel, Here's the Reason
Several Petrol Stations (SPBU) in the Jakarta and surrounding areas are known to no longer sell subsidised fuel of the RON 90 type, or Pertalite. This matter once raised public questions, especially after information circulated on social media that one SPBU in the Antasari area officially stopped selling Pertalite from 1 May 2026. In response, Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Corporate Secretary, Roberth M.V. Dumatubun, explained that the change was not due to a halt in distribution, but rather a change in the SPBU’s status itself. According to him, the SPBUs no longer selling Pertalite have switched to becoming Signature SPBUs, a category of SPBU with premium services and facilities. “That SPBU requested an upgrade in status to become a Signature SPBU; Signature SPBUs indeed do not sell subsidised fuels,” said Roberth to CNBC Indonesia, quoted on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Roberth added that Signature SPBUs prioritise higher quality services compared to regular SPBUs that still sell subsidised fuels. “Signature SPBUs prioritise services and facilities above those of regular SPBUs that still sell subsidised fuels. An example of an existing Signature SPBU is the Signature SPBU Pondok Indah,” he added.
