Solusi Bangun Indonesia records Rp278 billion profit in first half of 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI), a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), recorded a current period profit of Rp278 billion in the first half of 2026, an increase of 4.31 per cent compared to the same period the previous year, following growth in sales volume.
The company’s sales volume reached 6.10 million tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of 6.9 per cent. Revenue also increased by 10.63 per cent to Rp5.5 trillion, while gross profit rose by 15.9 per cent to Rp1.20 trillion.
“The growth in sales volume demonstrates that Solusi Bangun Indonesia is able to convert opportunities in demand recovery into business growth through fundamental transformation, particularly in retail sales,” said the President Director of SBI, Rizki Krespendie Edhie Hambali, in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Indonesian Cement Companies Association (ASPERSSI) noted that national cement demand began to show improvement throughout the first half of 2026, supported by the acceleration of government spending on regional development and construction activities.
However, the company noted that the recovery in demand has not been uniform across all segments, as public purchasing power remains weak and the contribution from the property sector has yet to grow significantly.
The cement industry is also considered to still be facing overcapacity conditions, which increases price competition, alongside pressures from energy and logistics costs.
Amidst these conditions, the company booked an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) of Rp806 billion in the first half of 2026.
Rizki stated that the company is striving to increase competitiveness through operational efficiency, financial management, and the expansion of both domestic and export markets.
“At the same time, the development of the export market is a vital part of our long-term strategy to expand our customer base, reduce dependence on a single market, and optimise production capacity,” he added.
As of June 2026, Solusi Bangun Indonesia recorded export volumes of special type cement to the United States amounting to 97,500 metric tonnes (MT).
These exports were conducted through a partnership with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation. The company targets total export volumes of special type cement to the United States to reach 450,000 MT by the end of 2026.
Entering the second half of 2026, the company sees growth opportunities from the continuity of construction projects and government spending, and plans to strengthen both domestic and export markets.
In the domestic market, the company noted that West Java is one of the regions of focus, as cement demand in the province is reported to have grown by 7.5 per cent year-on-year.
