'Solopos' daily published

SURAKARTA, Central Java: Residents of Central Java will be able to have more news variety starting Friday when the Solopos newspaper officially hits the stands.

Chief editor Danie H Soe'oed said Minister of Information R. Hartono, Directorate General of Press and Graphics Subrata along with Central Java and Yogyakarta public figures would be present at the launching ceremony.

The paper will be published daily except Sunday, Danie said.

Solopos is published by PT Aksara Solopos, a subsidiary of PT Jurnalindo Aksara Grafika which publishes the Bisnis Indonesia daily.

Its shareholders include tycoons Sukamdani Sahid Gitosardjono, Ciputra and Subronto Laras.

According to its business manager Bambang Natur Rahadi, the paper will consist of 16 pages, 14 of them in color. Initial circulation is expected to be around 10,000. (05/23)
