Solok Recovery Accelerated, Focus on Infrastructure and Food Sectors

Solok Regency has received Rp144 billion in Regional Transfer support to accelerate the rehabilitation process. Health sector realisation is the highest at 91 percent of an allocation exceeding Rp6 billion. The economic recovery sector follows with budget absorption of 57 percent from a total allocation of Rp45 billion. However, realisation in the education sector has only reached around 6 to 7 percent. The infrastructure sector has also only reached 6.7 percent of a total budget allocation exceeding Rp88 billion. According to Head of the National Post for the PRR Task Force Wahyu Bintono Hari Bawono, the low absorption is due to the unfinished process of adjusting unit prices in the Budget Plan. “Unit price and budget plan adjustments must be completed immediately. The remaining time in the fiscal year needs to be utilised with discipline because this infrastructure budget is directly linked to restoring connectivity and public services. We encourage projects to enter the procurement stage immediately so that residents can quickly feel the benefits,” Wahyu said in a written statement on Saturday (15/8/2026). Wahyu made the remarks while reviewing infrastructure repairs, provision of permanent housing, and food security strategies for residents on Thursday. The PRR Task Force is also paying attention to the relocation needs of 259 affected families in Solok Regency. The Solok Regency Government is urged to immediately complete the submission for an additional 199 new housing units to the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas. They are also asked to accelerate the legality of utilising 50 Fishermen’s Flats units in Nagari Muaro Pingai for affected residents. Handling of remaining disaster sedimentation in Sungai Sawah, Nagari Junjung Sirih, needs to be strengthened to prevent water overflow from damaging agricultural land. The PRR Task Force will coordinate support for providing heavy equipment directly with the Ministry of Public Works. Meanwhile, the regional government is required to continue river cleaning, emergency normalisation, and provision of transitional bridges. Turning to Solok City, flash floods and landslides in late 2025 affected 2,978 families. The disaster caused massive damage to 14 kilometres of roads, 11 irrigation network points, 292 MSME facilities, and four drinking water systems. As a permanent solution, the Batang Gawan and Batang Lembang flood control project worth Rp170 billion has now entered the tender phase. In addition, saving 115 hectares of affected rice fields is now one of the most urgent agendas in Solok City. Damage to embankments and high sediment deposits are considered to be severely disrupting water supply to residents’ agricultural land. In response, the PRR Task Force together with the Solok City Government are preparing an emergency pumping scheme swiftly. Support for reserve seeds and procurement of large-scale water pumps will be consolidated with the Ministry of Agriculture to prevent the risk of crop failure. The PRR Task Force is committed to continuing strict assistance to all relevant regional government levels. Cross-ministerial consolidation will also be overseen until the entire recovery process in the Solok area is fully completed.
