Solok City Government Bans School Trips to Ease Burden on Parents
The Solok City Government in West Sumatra has banned schools from conducting school trips as a form of concern to lighten the burden on students’ parents. Solok Mayor Ramadhani Kirana Putra in Solok on Tuesday (12/5/2026) instructed the Solok City Education Department to immediately issue a circular prohibiting the implementation of dharma wisata or school trip activities. According to him, the policy was taken as a form of government concern for the current economic conditions of the community and students’ parents who are facing economic pressures. “We want educational policies to still consider the conditions of the community. School activities should not become an additional burden for parents,” he said. He also stated that the cessation of dharma wisata or school trip activities is a form of the Solok City Government’s concern for the current economic conditions of the community. The number one person in Solok City also mentioned that the Education Department is the spearhead of educational progress in Solok City. Therefore, all ranks are asked to continue improving performance and strengthening synergy in providing the best services to the community.
