Solo Mayor Respati Ardi conducted a surprise inspection of the Mojosongo Nutritional Service Unit (SPPG) kitchen on Friday, 13 March 2026, located at Jalan Busukan Timur No. 8A, RT 2 RW 27, Kelurahan Mojosongo, Kecamatan Jebres, to address public complaints regarding the quality of meals provided under the Free Nutritious Food Programme (MBG).

The mayor stated that the city government has received numerous complaints from beneficiaries concerning the MBG menu, which is deemed unfit for consumption. He highlighted concerns about food quality that fails to meet nutritional standards.

“This situation is deeply troubling. The implementation of MBG at SPPG Mojosongo has even attracted national attention due to poor execution. I greatly regret the many reports regarding substandard MBG menus,” Respati said following the inspection.

Through the surprise inspection, Respati sought to ensure that the MBG programme operates according to established standards, encompassing both food quality and nutritional content. The Solo City Government aims to guarantee that meals provided to beneficiaries are genuinely fit for consumption and capable of meeting nutritional requirements.

According to Respati, such oversight represents the regional government’s commitment to ensuring optimal implementation of the MBG programme. The programme is considered vital as it directly relates to meeting the nutritional needs of the community, particularly for beneficiary groups.

“The MBG programme must be implemented properly as it concerns the nutritional fulfilment of our community. We want to ensure that all SPPG units implement this programme in accordance with applicable regulations,” he stated.

He further noted that the Solo City Government will continue to monitor SPPG kitchens implementing the MBG programme. Should any procedural violations or food quality failures be detected, the government will not hesitate to take firm action.

Respati also emphasised that MBG programme oversight is conducted jointly with various parties, including the MBG Task Force, the Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police (Polri), and the Attorney General’s Office, to ensure transparent and accountable implementation.

“The MBG Task Force, together with TNI-Polri and the Attorney General’s Office, will take firm action against SPPG units that fail to implement this programme according to regulations,” he said.

Beyond government oversight, the Solo City Government has also opened channels for the public to monitor programme implementation. Reports from the community are valued as early indicators of any problems in the field.

“Should there be any findings regarding operational or food quality matters, please report them. All reports will be evaluated to ensure this programme truly benefits our community,” Respati stated.

The Solo City Government hopes that through continued oversight, the Free Nutritious Food Programme will operate more effectively and improve the nutritional quality for beneficiaries in Solo.
