Solo Civil Servant Punished with Nine-Month Salary Cut for Leaking Rio Haryanto Documents
A civil servant (ASN) working under Solo Municipal Government, Central Java, with initials A has been imposed with a salary cut lasting nine months.
Beni Supartono, Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), stated that the sanction was imposed because A leaked or disclosed data from documents belonging to former Formula 1 driver Rio Haryanto on social media.
Beni stated that the punishment handed to A constitutes a medium-level sanction in the form of a 5 per cent reduction of basic salary for nine months.
“We submitted the decree to the person concerned yesterday. The sanction is a medium-level one comprising a 5 per cent salary cut for nine months,” he said on Monday (9 March), as reported by detikJateng.
Beni stated that the person in question currently works normally in the Civil Order Service (Satpol PP) of Solo City.
“The basic salary is being cut. They will continue working; they must improve and serve their punishment for nine months,” he explained.
Beni further stated that the sanction was decided through a meeting with relevant stakeholders including the Inspector, Legal Division, District Secretary (Sekda), and Solo City Mayor Respati Ardi.
The Decree (SK) of the sanction was only given to the person concerned on Friday (6 March).
“The sanction was issued last Friday and directly handed to the person concerned,” he said.
He also warned other civil servants to be more prudent in sharing content on social media, particularly matters involving personal data of citizens.
“Yes, as a lesson for others. Because for disciplinary procedures (P3K) there are only two sanctions—either this (salary cut) or termination or dismissal,” he said.
Previously, documents belonging to former Formula 1 driver Rio Haryanto went viral after one official at a village office in Solo uploaded them to social media. The introductory letter document was even posted on the social media story feature of the officer with initials A without censoring.
Solo City Government stated it had apologised to Rio Haryanto following the leak of the introductory letter for his wedding ceremony by a village employee. The apology was conveyed by BKPSDM Head Beni Supartono directly to Rio Haryanto.
Beni also apologised to Rio Haryanto regarding the document that was spread by the village official. He also informed Rio Haryanto that the person concerned had already been tried.
“But in principle we conveyed to Mas Rio that the trial process regarding the case and internal development will continue. This means we represented the municipal government and officially conveyed directly to Mas Rio, we apologise regarding this incident,” said Beni on Thursday (19 February).
