The Solo city government has apologised to former F1 driver Rio Haryanto following the leak of documents by a sub-district (kelurahan) official. The administration confirmed that the civil servant responsible for disseminating the documents has already faced a disciplinary hearing.

"In principle, we conveyed to Rio that the case hearing process and the related internal disciplinary measures will continue. We represented the city government in an official capacity and directly expressed our apologies to Rio regarding this incident," said Beni Supartono, Head of the Regional Civil Service and Human Resources Agency (BPKDM), speaking to Rio Haryanto on Thursday (19 February 2026).

Beni said the apology was accepted by Rio Haryanto. However, Rio's side also requested that sanctions against the official, identified only by the initial A, proceed as planned.

"He has acknowledged our apology. But in principle, he wants the disciplinary process relating to the violation committed by our employee to continue," Beni explained.

Beni assured that the case would not end with a mere apology. The administration will impose sanctions on the employee in question.

"This does not stop at simply being forgiven — the process will continue. We have agreed and are committed to ensuring that, for the purposes of guidance and to serve as a deterrent to the employee concerned, we will follow through with a disciplinary hearing and the subsequent sanctions," he said.
