Solidarity of Pangdam Tuanku Tambusai and Chief of Police Riau: United Building Villages
Pangdam XIX/Tuanku Tambusai Major General Agus Hadi Waluyo and Police Chief of Riau Province Inspector General Herry Heryawan demonstrated strong solidarity between the TNI and National Police. Major General Agus Hadi Waluyo and Inspector General Herry Heryawan worked synergistically to build villages.
Pangdam Tuanku Tambusai and Police Chief of Riau attended as inspecting officers at the closing ceremony of the 127th TNI-Led Village Building Programme (TMMD) at Kodim 03-02/Inhu-Kuansing on Wednesday, 11 March 2026. The presence of these two two-star generals symbolised that security and infrastructure development in Riau Province constituted a shared responsibility to be carried out shoulder-to-shoulder.
Major General Agus Hadi Waluyo emphasised that TMMD was not merely a routine TNI programme, but rather a collaborative space involving the National Police, Regional Government, and community elements.
“This is an activity that must continue as a collaborative effort by all of us. The TNI, National Police, Regional Government, and all of society working shoulder-to-shoulder to build their villages,” said the Pangdam.
The presence of Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan at the location also demonstrated full institutional support from the National Police for accelerating development in remote areas. The presence of National Police personnel in the field alongside TNI soldiers working on physical targets served as evidence of the strength of TNI and National Police solidarity in building the nation.
Major General Agus explained that the presence of security personnel in villages functioned as a catalyst to awaken the spirit of community mutual cooperation. He noted that solid community support represented the principal strength of the Indonesian nation.
“We serve only as a trigger; it is the community that carries out all of this work. We simply build, then the Regent provides the budget, and we manage it through self-help implementation. Without community support, this development means nothing,” he added.
The 127th TMMD programme focused not only on physical infrastructure development such as roads and bridges, but also on non-physical targets aimed at strengthening national consciousness and patriotism.
With security support and outreach from the ranks of the Riau Provincial Police, the Pangdam expressed confidence that the budget allocated by Kuansing District Government would produce optimal results for the welfare of village residents.
“I am confident and believe that we will maximise all of this so that the results from the allocated budget can be optimal. Both physical and non-physical targets must be achieved so that the community in this village has the same awareness to build towards a prosperous society,” he concluded.
During the ceremony, Pangdam Major General Agus and Police Chief Inspector General Herry conducted an inspection of the forces. The proceedings concluded with the distribution of assistance in the form of school supplies for primary school children.
