Sole BI Governor Candidate Destry Damayanti Undergoes Fit and Proper Test at DPR

Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor candidate Destry Damayanti outlined her vision and mission for leading the central bank during a fit and proper test before Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR). She stated that under her prospective leadership, the proposed vision and mission theme would be ‘Red and White Synergy for the Welfare of the Indonesian People’. This theme is closely linked to the central bank’s efforts to maintain stability and promote sustainable economic growth.

She emphasised that this vision would be achieved through three missions. The first is maintaining stability as a foundation to support sustainable economic growth.

The second is BI’s mission to support sustainable growth, which is an integrated part of the first mission of maintaining stability. ‘This mission ensures that stability can move in balance and continuity with economic growth,’ Destry asserted.

The third is the mission to strengthen synergy with various stakeholders through the Red and White synergy. ‘This mission affirms that BI will coordinate closely with the government, authorities, and various parties in responding to the strong challenges that remain and achieving Indonesia 2045,’ Destry stated.
