Soiled banknotes
Soiled banknotes
From Kompas
I cannot help wondering why banknotes (rupiah) get soiled and
damaged so easily. The banknotes I am referring to are Rp 100, Rp
500, Rp 1,000, Rp 5,000, and Rp 10,000. To hold soiled and torn
banknotes is inconvenient and even disgusting.
What can we do to make the banknotes last longer? It is a
small matter indeed but if you deal with them every day you may
become irritated. Particularly if you receive small change,
usually Rp 100 from the bus conductor or other sources, you may
have difficulty using them to pay for your purchase. Would the
government look into the matter?
