Tangerang (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas), through the Class I Special Immigration Office at the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, has successfully maintained its position in the top 10 for the world’s best services according to Skytrax’s 2026 assessment. Based on the evaluation by Skytrax, an independent aviation ranking body based in London, England, on 18 March 2026, Soetta Airport Immigration has met various aspects in the category of World’s Best Airport Immigration Services. These aspects include positive points in arrival and departure sectors, immigration services and border control, including waiting times, queuing systems, priority lanes, e-gate systems (automated gates) efficiency, as well as the efficiency and courtesy of immigration staff. “This is an extraordinary achievement because we have maintained the Skytrax ranking from last year to this year; we remain in the top 10 worldwide,” said the Acting Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) RI, Yuldi Yusman, at Soetta Airport in Tangerang, Banten, on Friday. According to Yuldi, this global award serves as a form of commitment from his side in carrying out the transformation and innovation of Indonesian immigration services, especially at international airports. “This recognition is part of a broader series of achievements at the global level, particularly at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which has also secured various prestigious rankings,” he stated. “Indonesia has proven the stability of service quality through assessments from service users from various countries, covering several aspects, including waiting time efficiency, optimisation of autogate technology, availability of priority lanes, and the professionalism of field officers,” he explained. Moving forward, Yuldi said, Immigration will continue to strengthen collaboration and innovation to ensure that Indonesian immigration services are increasingly adaptive, modern, and capable of meeting public needs as well as global challenges. In addition, they assured that immigration services during the Eid homecoming period ran smoothly, efficiently, and under control. However, this award achievement is not the end line of accomplishments but rather motivation to continuously improve the best service quality for the public. “Minister of Imipas Agus Andrianti emphasised that technology is no longer an option but a necessity to enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness. We are committed to continuously improving public service quality, strengthening digital transformation, and providing fast, secure, and friendly services for the public,” he said.
