Soetomo Hospital to have hotel

SURABAYA: Hoping to offer better service to its patients and
their families, Dr. Soetomo Hospital in Surabaya plans to equip
itself with a hotel and travel bureau.

The hospital's director, Slamet Riyadi, disclosed the plan,
which was intended to offer services to patients coming from
outside the province.

"The hospital's patients come not only from Surabaya and its
surrounding cities but also from outside the province and they
need a place to stay," he said on Friday.

Currently, he said, many of the patients' families lingered
about and some even stayed the night in the hospital's hallway
while tending to their sick relatives, making the hospital look
unkempt.

"With the presence of the hotel, we hope that no more people
will be sleeping in the hallway," said Slamet, adding the plan
