Soekarno Run BWX 2026 Series: PDIP East Java Distributes 2,000 Basic Food Packages
The East Java Regional Leadership Council of the PDI Perjuatan (DPD PDIP Jatim) has organised a social service action, distributing 2,000 basic food packages along with cash assistance to underprivileged communities in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. This humanitarian activity is part of the series of agendas for the Soekarno Run BWX 2026 sporting event.
The distribution of aid was led directly by the Chairman of DPD PDIP Jatim, Said Abdullah, and was distributed simultaneously across five different locations in Banyuwangi. The primary targets for the beneficiaries focused on low-income residents, orphans, widows, and the elderly.
Each aid package contains essential commodities such as rice and cooking oil, and is accompanied by cash assistance worth Rp 300,000 per recipient. Amidst the distribution activity, Said emphasised that this social action aligns with the main vision of the Soekarno Run BWX 2026 organisers.
According to Said, a sporting event should not stop at mere physical celebration but must bring a real impact to the welfare of the social community.
“The Soekarno Run BWX 2026 event is not just a running race or mere entertainment. Behind this sporting spirit, there is a grand mission to build a resilient and persistent community character and to cultivate a healthy lifestyle,” Said stated in a written release on Saturday (19/09/2026).
“However, mental and physical health cannot be fully achieved if our brothers and sisters are still struggling to meet their basic needs,” he added.
Said added that the distribution of basic food packages is an expression of empathy and a commitment to the political principle of ‘gotong royong’ (mutual cooperation) for the nation, which sides with the common people.
“Through the distribution of 2,000 food packages and this assistance, we want to ensure the presence of a positive energy that directly touches the citizens, especially our elderly, widows, and orphans. We have designed this event with a holistic concept: improving public physical health, building the character of the younger generation through the values of Bung Karno’s struggle, and simultaneously stimulating the local economy,” Said asserted.
Furthermore, Said highlighted the role of Soekarno Run BWX 2026 in driving the regional economy through the sport tourism sector. The arrival of thousands of participants from various regions is expected to bring a multiplier effect to accommodation, local culinary businesses, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Banyuwangi.
“A healthy lifestyle must go hand in hand with economic recovery. When runners explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Banyuwangi, local MSMEs must enjoy the direct benefits of this economic circulation,” said Said.
“This is the essence of equitable development: healthy bodies, strong character, empowered MSMEs, and protected underprivileged communities,” he concluded.
