PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Airports, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport branch office, will officially centralise departure services for group Umrah pilgrims at the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F starting 1 July 2026. This policy refers to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation Circular Letter Number SE-DJPU 12 of 2026 concerning the Arrangement of Hajj and Umrah Air Transport Passenger Services through the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport General Manager Heru Karyadi stated that departures through this special terminal are intended to provide a comfortable, orderly, and well-organised travel experience for pilgrims from the moment they arrive at the airport until departure. “The Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F has been optimally prepared to serve the needs of Umrah pilgrims. With more complete facilities, a larger area, and specially designed operational support, we want to ensure every pilgrim receives the best service from the beginning of their worship journey,” he said in a written statement on Friday (26/6/2026). The 27,418-square-metre terminal has been equipped with facilities to support the comfort of Umrah pilgrims and their accompanying families, such as a waiting room with a capacity of up to 3,000 people and a mosque covering 3,136 square metres with a capacity of approximately 1,000 pilgrims. The airport also provides 20 check-in counters so that the reporting and drop baggage process for Umrah pilgrims is separated from regular passengers, making the departure process faster and more comfortable. In addition, airport staff can focus on serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims as there are no regular passengers at this special terminal. Stages of Centralised Service at Terminal 2F In line with Circular Letter Number SE DJPU 12 of 2026, airlines providing services for group Umrah pilgrims will implement a phased Split Operation scheme according to a set schedule. In the initial stage on 1 July 2026, Umrah pilgrims using Long Air, Hainan Airlines, and Saudia Airlines will process their departures through the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. The next stage will be implemented starting 8 July 2026 for Umrah pilgrims using Scoot and Turkish Airlines. Meanwhile, starting 15 July 2026, the departure process will be implemented for Umrah pilgrims using Qatar Airways, Egypt Air, Oman Air, Emirates, and Etihad Airways. Heru explained that these stages are carried out to ensure the operational transition process runs optimally and to give all stakeholders time to adjust service processes. “The implementation is carried out in stages so that services for Umrah pilgrims run smoothly. We continue to coordinate with airlines, Umrah Travel Organisers (PPIU), regulators, and all stakeholders to ensure each stage proceeds well,” Heru explained. Previously, Terminal 2F had served Umrah pilgrim departures through several operational stages. The terminal first served Lion Air charter flights in 2022, then served Garuda Indonesia charter and regular flights in 2025. Various facility improvements and operational schemes were developed until the terminal was ready to serve group Umrah pilgrim departures on a larger scale starting July 2026. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, together with all stakeholders, expressed its commitment to continuously improving service quality to support the implementation of safe, orderly, and comfortable Umrah pilgrimages.
