The government is targeting Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to break into the world’s top 10 airports by 2029. The airport’s transformation is being accelerated through collaboration with all stakeholders, including InJourney Holding and Danantara Indonesia. The transformation programme, which began in 2024, is based on three pillars: premises, people, and process, with technology serving as a supporting function. The premises pillar focuses on developing service-oriented airport infrastructure, while the people pillar aims to deliver world-class staff service, and the process pillar strengthens ecosystem-based airport operations. Several programmes have already been realised, including the Terminal Khusus Haji dan Umrah 2F, which was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto in 2025. In the same year, InJourney Airports also reopened Terminal 1C following a completed revitalisation. Upgrades to Terminal 3 earned the terminal a four-star rating from Skytrax. In 2026, the transformation continues with the revitalisation of Terminal 1A, a programme aimed at improving service quality, completing facilities, and increasing the terminal’s capacity from 5.7 million to 10 million passengers per year.
