Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Expands Umrah Services at Terminal 2F
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is expanding its group umrah services, which are centralised at the dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. Starting 7 August 2026, four airlines—Ethiopian Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Royal Brunei Airlines—will operate departures and arrivals for group umrah pilgrims through the terminal.
General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Heru Karyadi, stated that the expansion follows the smooth implementation of the centralised umrah service in July 2026. He noted that the addition of these airlines will make services for pilgrims more integrated.
“After the implementation of services for umrah airlines last July ran smoothly, we are again expanding the operational coverage of the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F,” Heru said in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (4/8/2026).
Heru explained that the operation of umrah services through the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F is part of the airport management’s commitment to improving service quality for pilgrims. He added that operational evaluations of the terminal will continue to be conducted regularly.
“We will continue to evaluate periodically the operations of the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F so that every service process runs well and is continuously adjusted to operational needs in the field,” Heru said.
Heru noted that the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F is equipped with various supporting facilities for worship travel, including dedicated check-in areas, a large-capacity waiting room, prayer facilities, and other service amenities. The presence of these facilities is intended to provide comfort for pilgrims from the departure process through to arrival.
During the period of 1-31 July 2026, the terminal served 89,656 umrah passengers for both departures and arrivals. With the addition of the four new airlines, the terminal now serves Loong Air, Hainan Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Scoot, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, EgyptAir, Oman Air, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Royal Brunei Airlines.
Heru affirmed that the airport will continue to collaborate with regulators, airlines, Umrah Travel Organisers (PPIU), ground handling companies, and all stakeholders. “Collaboration among all stakeholders is key to ensuring that every operational process runs well and services to the public are increasingly optimised,” Heru concluded.
