Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train Service Temporarily Suspended Following Truck Collision at Poris Crossing
A truck was hit by the Soekarno-Hatta Airport train at the level crossing near Poris Station in Batuceper sub-district, Tangerang City. Airport train operations have been temporarily suspended until the recovery process is complete.
“Commuter line airport services have been temporarily closed until the infrastructure has been declared safe for passage. KAI is focusing all resources on accelerating the restoration of the line so that services can resume in stages,” said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba to reporters on Friday (20/2/2026).
Anne explained that all passengers had been evacuated. There were no fatalities in the incident.
“Safety is our top priority. All passengers have been safely evacuated and there were no casualties in this incident,” Anne said.
KAI, Anne added, would pursue legal action in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. The company extended its apologies for the disruption to a number of services caused by the accident.
“We extend our apologies for the inconvenience. All recovery efforts are being carried out intensively so that services can return to normal as soon as possible,” Anne said.
Traffic Diversions
Police have also implemented traffic management measures at several points intersecting with Jalan Maulana Hasanudin. Congestion was concentrated at the Poris crossing point and did not extend to toll road routes or the direction of the airport.
The following traffic diversions were put in place:
From Jakarta (Jl. Daan Mogot) towards Cipondoh: Diverted at the Ampera three-way junction, directed via Jl. Jenderal Sudirman towards Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari.
From Cipondoh (Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari) towards Daan Mogot: Diverted via Jl. Benteng Betawi towards Jl. Jenderal Sudirman.
From Jl. Benteng Betawi towards Jakarta: Diverted via Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari – Gondrong traffic lights – Jl. H. Mansyur – Jl. KH Ahmad Dahlan.
Truck Dragged 100 Metres
Tangerang City Metro Police Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari explained that the accident occurred at approximately 06.05 Western Indonesian Time. It began when a trailer truck was travelling from the direction of Cipondoh towards Daan Mogot.
“As the railway crossing barriers were in operation, the vehicle entered the railway tracks. The truck cab had already cleared the tracks, but the container body was still on the crossing,” Jauhari said in a statement to reporters on Friday (20/2).
Jauhari said the incident caused the trailer truck to be dragged several metres from the initial point of impact at the crossing.
“It was dragged approximately 100 metres from the railway crossing,” he added.
