PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) through its Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch in Tangerang, Banten, has served 20,031 hajj pilgrims in 47 flight groups (kloter) heading to the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia, during the period from 21 April to 9 May 2026.

“Soekarno-Hatta Airport has been one of the busiest, where the number of hajj pilgrims departing for the Holy Land during the period from 21 April to 9 May 2026 through this airport is recorded at 20,031 people with 47 kloter,” said InJourney Airports CEO Mohammad R. Pahlevi in a statement received in Tangerang on Monday.

According to him, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has been designated as an airport specially serving hajj pilgrims through the Dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F.

This terminal is equipped with facilities to ease hajj pilgrims, such as a mosque spanning 3,136 square metres, a waiting area of 4,158 square metres, and a lounge for 2,000 people.

In this regard, Pahlevi also stated that 126,097 pilgrims from Indonesia have been dispatched to the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia, through 14 airports during this year’s period.

“During that period, the total hajj flights served reached 322 flights,” he said.

He mentioned that of the total hajj flights, 310 flights ran smoothly with a cumulative on-time performance (OTP) from the 14 airports reaching 96 per cent.

“All parties have carried out good planning and coordination, from the process at the hajj dormitories, the journey to the airport, to departure services at the airport and the boarding process onto the aircraft,” he said.

According to him, the smoothness in this year’s hajj service is supported by excellent implementation and collaboration between InJourney Airports, the Hajj Organising Committee, airlines, AirNav Indonesia, ground handling operators, as well as support from the Ministry of Hajj & Umrah and the Ministry of Transportation.

“Security checks on hajj pilgrims and their belongings before boarding the aircraft have been conducted since at the hajj dormitories,” he said.

In line with this, InJourney Airports ensures that airport infrastructure and facilities also support the smooth departure of hajj flights, such as Soekarno-Hatta Airport providing the Dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F for pilgrim departures.

The five busiest airports in the implementation of hajj flights from 21 April to 9 May 2026 are: Juanda Surabaya (25,794 pilgrims with 68 kloter), Soekarno-Hatta Tangerang (20,031 pilgrims with 47 kloter), Adi Soemarmo Solo (19,002 pilgrims with 53 kloter), Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar (9,808 pilgrims with 25 kloter), and Kualanamu Deli Serdang (5,379 pilgrims with 15 kloter).

“We are committed to continuing to ensure the smooth departure of hajj flights until the end of the departure period on 21 May 2026,” he said.
