Soekarno-Hatta Airport Rises to 22nd in the World, Bali Airport Also Climbs Rankings
Two Indonesian airports have once again achieved recognition on the global stage in the World Airport Awards 2026. According to the official list of the World’s Top 100 Airports 2026 from Skytrax, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has secured 22nd place worldwide. This position marks an increase of three ranks compared to the previous year, when it was at 25th. Meanwhile, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has also recorded an improvement in its ranking. The rise in rankings for both airports reflects enhancements in service quality amid global competition in the aviation industry. Changes implemented in recent years are said to be the primary factors driving these improvements. On the other hand, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport has seen a gradual increase, from 74th in 2024, to 72nd in 2025, and now at 67th worldwide. This progress is driven by various enhancements, ranging from facility optimisation and improved access to the development of passenger services. The assessment is based on surveys of passengers from various countries who evaluate their experiences at the airports, from check-in processes and security to facility comfort. These results affirm that Indonesian airports continue to enhance their global competitiveness, while also serving as primary gateways that reflect the quality of national tourism services.
