Soekarno-Hatta Airport Overwhelmed by Eid Travellers
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch in Tangerang, Banten, recorded a total of 184,754 aircraft passengers during the peak of the Eid exodus or H-3 before the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE.
Based on daily data, the 184,754 passengers were divided into two flights, including 103,889 departures and 80,865 arrivals.
Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal at PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch, Yudistiawan, stated that based on the attached daily data, during this peak flow of Eid transportation, there were also 1,232 flights recorded with a total of 184,000 passengers.
“For today’s peak exodus flow, passenger movement continues to increase. A total of 184,000 people passed through Soekarno-Hatta Airport,” he said on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
He noted that the current passenger traffic is experiencing a quite significant increase compared to the passenger movement trend during the H-4 Eid period, which recorded 169,843 people with 1,179 flights.
Yudistiawan mentioned that from the total 184,000 passenger movements, the number of crossings at Terminal 1 was 51,467 people. Meanwhile, aircraft movements totalled 307 flights or 24.92 percent.
Meanwhile, at Terminal 2, 51,498 people were recorded with 364 domestic flights. Then, for international, 14,727 passengers were recorded with 98 flights.
Next, the number of passenger movements at Terminal 3 was 38,460 people with 260 domestic flights and for international reaching 155 flights with 28,602 passengers.
“Total aircraft movements: 1,232 flights with 611 departure flights and 621 arrival flights,” he explained.
Based on observations at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport around 1:20 PM WIB, long queues of prospective passengers were visible at several flight ticket counters.
In fact, several ticket sales counters in the terminal were already crowded with passengers heading to various regions for Eid travel. Several other passengers were also seen standing waiting for document checks around the check-in counter entrance (Ant).
