Soekarno-Hatta Airport Opens New Routes to China
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, has opened new flight routes to strengthen international air connectivity. China’s Spring Airlines is scheduled to begin serving the Guangzhou (CAN)-Jakarta (CGK) route on 16 June 2026 with three flights per week, followed by the Shenzhen (SZX)-Jakarta (CGK) route starting 17 June 2026 with two flights per week.
“The opening of these two new routes is a strategic step in expanding air connectivity between Indonesia and China, while opening new opportunities for growth in tourism, trade, investment, and people-to-people mobility between the two countries,” said Soekarno-Hatta Airport General Manager Heru Karyadi, as quoted by Antara on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
He said the arrival of Spring Airlines is a positive signal of increasing confidence among international airlines in the aviation market potential at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. “This also opens new opportunities in supporting economic growth, tourism, and business relations between Indonesia and China,” he added.
Heru noted that Soekarno-Hatta Airport currently serves 69 regular and non-regular airlines, with connectivity to 123 international destinations and 70 domestic destinations. He assessed that the addition of new routes from Spring Airlines further strengthens Soekarno-Hatta’s position as Indonesia’s largest international aviation hub.
“We hope Soekarno-Hatta Airport can continue to be Indonesia’s main gateway to other countries and make a real contribution to national economic growth,” he said.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport previously expanded its connectivity through a partnership with South Korean carrier T’way Air, launching a Seoul (ICN)-Jakarta (CGK) service on 29 April 2026 with five flights per week. The addition of these international routes reflects the strong interest of global airlines in expanding their flight networks to Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. “We will continue to collaborate with various airlines and stakeholders to provide broader, more efficient, and competitive connectivity to support the growth of the national aviation industry,” Heru said.
