Tangerang, Banten — PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), the management arm of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, has announced that flights to the Middle East are experiencing cancellations and delays due to airspace closures across several countries in the region.

Aziz Fahmi Harahap, Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, stated on Sunday that affected flights include Etihad Airways (EY472) to Abu Dhabi, Qatar Airways (QR954) to Doha, Qatar Airways (QR957) to Doha, Emirates (EK357) to Dubai, Etihad Airways (EY475) to Abu Dhabi, Garuda Indonesia (GA900) to Doha, and Etihad Airways (EY473) to Abu Dhabi.

“For arriving flights, Etihad Airways EY472 on the Abu Dhabi-Jakarta route and Qatar Airways QR954 on the Doha-Jakarta route have been cancelled,” he explained.

Harahap indicated that the airport has implemented passenger care procedures in response to the delays and cancellations, including travel document cancellation processes at immigration and coordination with airlines regarding accommodation arrangements and flight rescheduling.

“Overall, the terminal situation remains safe and orderly,” he stated.

The airport assured that operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, particularly for other international routes, continue to operate safely and smoothly. Airport management guarantees that all service activities for users proceed optimally, both for passenger departures and arrivals.

“Intensive coordination is consistently maintained with airlines, airport authorities, and other relevant institutions to anticipate various operational dynamics and ensure safety, security, and service standards are upheld,” he said.

InJourney, as the principal airport operator in Indonesia, has urged prospective passengers travelling to Middle Eastern routes to actively monitor flight information through their respective airline’s official channels or by contacting airline customer service for the latest updates on departure status.

“In line with this, we continue to conduct regular monitoring of operational developments across all terminals, particularly for international flight services, so that any potential obstacles can be responded to quickly and appropriately,” he added.
