Soekarno-Hatta Airport Hosts Children's Day Festivities to Enhance Passenger Experience
Coinciding with the commemoration of National Children’s Day 2026 on Thursday (23/7), Soekarno-Hatta International Airport staged entertainment for children travelling with their parents at the Activity Centre of Terminal 2E.
The entertainment, held under the theme ‘Great Children, Strong Indonesia towards Golden Indonesia 2045’, featured various traditional dances, a performance by a children’s choir, and interactive storytelling together with Kampung Dongeng.
The General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Heru Karyadi, said National Children’s Day was a moment to deliver services ever closer to the needs of the public, particularly families travelling through the airport with their children.
‘Every day Soekarno-Hatta International Airport serves tens of thousands of families travelling with children. That is why, on this National Children’s Day, we want to give them an experience so they feel safe, comfortable and that their journey runs smoothly,’ Heru said.
Heru also expressed hope that the airport could serve as a space that brings joy whilst offering an educational experience for children. The step was taken as part of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero)’s commitment to supporting human resource development through the provision of safe, comfortable and inclusive public spaces.
This aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Number 4 on Quality Education, as well as the implementation of the fourth Asta Cita, which aims to strengthen the development of superior human resources with strong character, competitiveness, and mastery of science and technology.
This commitment, he added, is underpinned by the airport’s operational performance, which continues to show positive results, with aircraft movements increasing. This was the case during the period from January to June 2026, when aircraft movements reached 177,724, up by around one per cent compared with the previous year (2025).
‘The increase in aircraft movements shows that Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s services enjoy good public trust,’ he explained.
