Soeharto's abolition

I agree with Rahmawati Soekarnoputri's objection to the
granting of an abolition to Soeharto, which, as she said in a
recent interview at the University of Bung Karno, would mean
canceling plans to bring Soeharto before the courts. My reasons
for agreeing with her are as follows:

1. Soeharto is the key person who can reveal the whole story
behind the tragedy of G-30 S/PKI including the Lubang Buaya
disaster.

2. All the people who have suffered or have been killed because
they have been sentenced without recourse to normal legal
procedures must be rehabilitated and given compensation. Those
who are guilty must face court.

3. The veracity of many items in Indonesian history during
Soeharto's era is doubtful. This historical period must be
reviewed to ensure that school children do not learn an
inaccurate version of history.

4. Stolen Indonesian assets must be returned.
