Soeharto in hospital

Former president Soeharto was admitted to privately run Pertamina
Hospital, South Jakarta, on Monday, an official from the hospital
said. The hospital spokeswoman declined to give details. One of
his lawyers, Mohammad Assegaf, said that Soeharto was taken from
his home in Central Jakarta to the hospital at around 5 p.m. and
was still there as of late Monday.

"My sources at Jl. Cendana (Soeharto's home) told me that Pak
Harto could walk to the car, and that he received many guests
during the day. I assume that he was taken to the hospital for a
medical checkup only," he said. --JP
