The Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Supervisory Body (BP BUMN) and Chief Operating Officer of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, is confident that the increase in non-subsidised fuel prices, specifically Pertamax and Pertamax Green, will not have a significant impact on inflation. According to Dony in Jakarta on Wednesday, the price adjustment for non-subsidised fuel has been made in accordance with global market mechanisms and following a joint process with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He stated that Pertamax is used by the upper-middle class, not by industry or mass transportation. As of 10 June 2026, the price of Pertamax (RON 92) rose from Rp12,300 per litre to Rp16,250 per litre, while Pertamax Green (RON 95) increased from Rp12,900 per litre to Rp17,000 per litre. He conveyed that the price adjustment was made by considering the development of global oil prices and remains below the actual economic value. Dony explained that the mandate for Pertamax is to follow the market price, and that the current price actually represents only 50 percent of the real price. Furthermore, he agreed with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who stated that the impact of the Pertamax price increase on inflation is minimal. The majority of non-subsidised fuel users come from the middle-to-upper income groups, so it does not affect the sectors that determine inflation. He urged the public not to worry excessively and to remain optimistic and calm. He also assessed that the non-subsidised fuel price adjustment policy is an effort to create fairness, citing that the law stipulates non-subsidised fuel must follow market prices and that the wealthy should not be subsidised by the lower-income groups. Pertamina Patra Niaga announced the price increase for Pertamax and Pertamax Green effective 10 June 2026.
