The State-Owned Enterprise Supervisory Board (BP BUMN) is set to merge two entities under Perum Perhutani. This move is part of a streamlining and transformation programme within the state-owned enterprise.

Muhammad Khoerur Roziqin, Director of Management at BP BUMN, explained that Perum Perhutani previously conducted mergers of several business entities in 2022. Specifically, Inhutani I, II, and III were merged into Inhutani I, while Inhutani IV, V, and PT Perhutani Anugerah were merged into Inhutani V.

“In the future, Inhutani I and V will be merged into one,” he stated during a Media Engagement event held by BP BUMN with Perum Perhutani in Bandung on Friday (18/09/2026).

Roziqin explained that the reason for merging these two business entities is that certain operations managed by Inhutani V, such as river utilisation and other reforestation activities, have long been inactive. He noted that while Perhutani itself does not technically have subsidiaries, previous mergers led to the creation of the Inhutani group and its various branches.

Currently, Inhutani I focuses on the timber business, producing roundwood, processed wood, and biomass, as well as developing nature-based solutions and carbon trading projects. Meanwhile, Inhutani V focuses on non-timber forest products, such as rosin, turpentine, and their derivatives.

As part of the ongoing transformation, BP BUMN, alongside BPI Danantara, is actively promoting SOE transformation programmes. One of the primary methods is the acceleration of corporate streamlining to build a leaner, more effective, and efficient structure.

Dony Oskaria, Head of BP BUMN and COO of Danantara, stated that 652 state-owned companies are slated for reduction, leaving only 250 SOEs remaining. “In total, we aim to resolve the status of approximately 652 companies, resulting in a final count of 250 companies,” Dony said in an official statement.

To date, 274 entities have already been restructured as part of the SOE management transformation. “We previously reported on our streamlining efforts, and the result is that 274 companies have now undergone streamlining,” he explained.

Furthermore, Dony has held meetings with the Special Envoy to the President to discuss the progress of the SOE transformation. These discussions highlighted the positive impacts that the transformation is beginning to yield across various state-owned enterprises.
