The Head of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Regulatory Agency, Dony Oskaria, has outlined the major direction of transformation and the strategic role of SOEs, as part of the commitment to ensuring the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s government programmes.

Dony stated that all SOE personnel are part of the state apparatus responsible for implementing and communicating state policies.

“I want to remind everyone on this good occasion that we in this room are all civil servants; we are part of the government,” Dony said in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Amid a handful of negative sentiments towards the government, Dony said SOEs must be at the forefront in providing complete and comprehensive explanations.

He emphasised that the policies implemented by the government have a clear rationale and long-term goals for the nation.

“As part of the government, I truly hope that all SOE personnel can provide clarification and explain why the government is implementing these policies,” Dony said.

He expressed his confidence in the direction of leadership under President Prabowo Subianto in carrying out national economic transformation.

According to him, it is impossible for the government to take policies that harm the people, given the commitment and dedication that have been demonstrated.

“It is impossible for a government, especially one led by Mr President Prabowo who is willing to sacrifice his life for the country, to do something that is not good,” Dony said.

Dony explained that various economic policies currently being implemented by the government aim to drive transformation from superficial economic growth to fundamental and equitable growth.

According to him, the government wants to ensure that economic growth is truly enjoyed by all Indonesian people through strengthening food security, energy, and human resources as the main pillars of national development.

“If we understand the rationale behind it, why it is being done, we will know that this is indeed necessary to create a brighter future for our nation,” Dony said.

Dony reiterated that SOEs must play an active role as a bridge of communication between the government and society.

“This is so that the economic policies being implemented can be fully understood as real efforts to strengthen economic sovereignty and improve the welfare of the Indonesian people,” Dony said.
