SOE Oversight Body Accelerates Compensation and Healthcare Services for Accident Victims in East Bekasi

Jakarta, VIVA – The Deputy Head of BP BUMN, Tedi Bharata, led a meeting to discuss the acceleration of compensation distribution and healthcare service handling for victims of the train accident that occurred in East Bekasi on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

The discussion was conducted with the management of PT KAI (Persero), PT Jasa Raharja, PT Jasa Raharja Putera, BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, as well as eight referral hospitals treating the victims.

In the meeting, Tedi emphasised the importance of swift, precise, and optimal handling for all victims at every referral hospital.

Additionally, BP BUMN is pushing for the acceleration of the compensation process so that the rights of victims and their families can be received promptly, accurately, and without administrative obstacles.

“All train accident victims must be ensured to receive the best treatment, and the rights of victims and their families, including compensation, can be fulfilled quickly, precisely, and without administrative obstacles,” said Tedi in his statement on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.

“All costs for treatment and handling of victims are ensured not to be borne by the victims’ families,” he added.

He further stated that financing and guarantees will be carried out through coordination among state-owned enterprises and related business entities, including PT Jasa Raharja, PT Jasa Raharja Putera, PT KAI, BPJS Kesehatan, and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

According to him, BP BUMN will continue to oversee this handling process to ensure that all rights of victims and their families are fulfilled.

“Cross-institutional coordination is also continuously strengthened so that healthcare services, treatment cost guarantees, and compensation distribution can run optimally, quickly, responsively, and in favour of the public,” he said.
