SOE Chief Visits Purbaya's Office, Specifically to Discuss KCIC Debt

Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Management Agency, Dony Oskaria, held a meeting with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/8/2026). Dony stated that his meeting with Purbaya was a routine one. One of the agendas to be discussed, according to him, was the debt restructuring of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), including a proposal for tax relief as part of the SOE rehabilitation process. “We are asking for the tax, aren’t we. The tax. Requesting tax relief (SOE restructuring). And there is a law for us. The demining process so it can be resolved quickly,” Dony said on Wednesday (5/8/2026). Unfortunately, Dony declined to detail the debt restructuring scheme for KCIC. He said the Finance Minister would explain the scheme. “Later, the Finance Minister will explain the scheme,” he stressed. In addition, the two also discussed the consolidation or streamlining of governance within the SOE environment as well as a number of other agendas.
