SOE and Private Sector Synergy Supports Smooth 2026 Homecoming Travel
The government projects approximately 143.9 million passenger movements during the 2026 Eid homecoming period, based on a survey by the Ministry of Transportation. This high mobility demands readiness across all transportation modes, including sea crossings.
To address these needs, OT Group has established a strategic partnership with PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (State Enterprise) to strengthen services at four major ports: Merak, Bakauheni, Gilimanuk, and Ketapang.
Through this collaboration, OT Group ensures the availability of various travel necessities, ranging from snacks to ready-to-drink beverages and bottled water. Products such as Tango, Teh Gelas, Crystalin, and Formula are provided in port areas, retail outlets, and aboard ferry vessels.
The surge in mobility during Eid is typically accompanied by increased consumption needs at transit points. Therefore, the company ensures product availability at prices compliant with the Maximum Retail Price (HET) to maintain price stability and protect public purchasing power.
OT Group’s FMCG Chief Executive Officer, Donny, emphasised that this collaboration represents the company’s contribution to supporting public services. “Homecoming is the largest social momentum in Indonesia. We ensure accessible and affordable product access whilst maintaining price stability amid surging demand,” he stated in a press release.
Meanwhile, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s Director of Engineering, Nana Sutisna, described the partnership as a step to strengthen integrated ferry services oriented towards customer satisfaction. “We continue to provide more comfortable, safe, and memorable travel experiences through collaboration with various parties,” Nana said.
The collaboration also encompasses service activation in passenger terminals, lounges, and optimisation of onboard services. The presence of OT Group products at major ports is expected to facilitate travellers in meeting their consumption needs during journeys.
This partnership also marks the strengthening of OT Group’s strategy in developing business based on the national transportation ecosystem, following previous collaboration with Garuda Indonesia in the aviation sector.
Through this SOE and private sector synergy, the 2026 homecoming travel flow is expected to be not only operationally smooth but also provide travellers with more comfortable, safe, and affordable journey experiences.
