Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, revealed that the total social assistance distributed to residents affected by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra amounts to IDR 2.5 trillion. This assistance includes regular, emergency, and adaptive social aid.

“In total, the value is IDR 2,564,819,421,880. This is what we have distributed, and we hope it will be delivered smoothly to the beneficiaries,” said Gus Ipul at his office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).

Gus Ipul explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs distributes this aid after receiving data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). The data of aid recipients is then determined by the Regent or Mayor and subsequently re-verified.

“We distribute this after receiving the data from BNPB, which is then determined by the Regent or Mayor with detailed information, including names and addresses. After that, it is verified by the Minister of Home Affairs, signed, and then handed over to us, and we conduct another inspection together with the distributors, in this case, PT Pos and BSI. After that, we distribute it,” he said.

Gus Ipul added that his ministry also provides assistance and monitoring throughout the social assistance distribution process. This is done to ensure that the distributed aid is received by the intended beneficiaries according to the available data.

“In this distribution process, we, along with local leaders and our accompanying team, provide assistance, monitoring, and also ensure proper reporting so that this distribution remains prudent, careful, in accordance with regulations, targeted, and can be truly utilized by the beneficiaries,” he said.
