Gresik, East Java (ANTARA) - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasised the importance of updating the National Single Social-Economic Data (DTSEN) to ensure the distribution of social assistance reaches the deserving members of society. “This data must be continuously updated because it is dynamic in nature. Every day there are changes, whether births, deaths, or population movements,” he said in Gresik, East Java, on Monday. He affirmed that through Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025 on DTSEN, the government is striving to unify the social data base to prevent discrepancies in data between agencies in the distribution of assistance programmes. “With this Presidential Instruction, it is hoped that there will no longer be the use of differing data, and data management will be carried out by the BPS,” he stated. According to him, data updating is key to ensuring that all priority programmes, including social assistance and community empowerment, can precisely reach poor and extremely poor groups. “This Sekolah Rakyat serves as a miniature for poverty alleviation. The children receive education, their parents are empowered, their homes are assisted to be habitable, and they receive social assistance,” he said. Meanwhile, Gresik Deputy Regent Asluchul Alif stated that the local government is continuously aligning DTSEN data through field verifications with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). “Through this step, we ensure that the determination of deciles matches the conditions on the ground, so that the programmes implemented are truly on target,” he said.
